  • Tufts University Creates Leadership Award Honoring Spencer Abbot (WHF 2015-16)

The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University is creating the “C. Spencer Abbot Leadership Award” in honor of CAPT Spencer Abbot (2015-16). Spencer is being appropriately remembered for his exceptional service to the nation and to numerous institutions where he served and thrived.  A fourth-generation Naval officer, Spencer earned his MALD and PHD in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy before becoming a White House Fellow. During his Fellowship year Spencer served at the Department of State where his many contributions were recognized by his Principal, the Honorable John Kerry, former Secretary of State who spoke at Spencer’s memorial service at the U.S. Naval Academy. As part of the award, several family members, friends, and USNA alumni are joining together to create an endowed internship.
