  • Samar Ali (2010-11) Receives the 2018 IMPACT Award

We are pleased to announce that the White House Fellows Foundation and Association will be presenting the 2018 IMPACT Award to Samar Ali (2010-10). The IMPACT Award recognizes recent White House Fellows who have demonstrated both remarkable achievement and transformational contributions in their field, as well as a sustained commitment to the White House Fellows program. Samar Ali exemplifies these criteria in every way.

Samar Ali’s career has spanned the White House, the South African Supreme Court, the State Government of Tennessee, and now today, as an entrepreneur and human rights lawyer. She works locally, regionally, nationally and globally to strengthen democratic institutions, and to de-stigmatize and de-politicize the Muslim identity in America today. She boasts many awards, to include the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader, and her work is the focus of a film by Emmy-nominated director Michael Collins, “Out of Many One”, about the meaning of American citizenship today and the future of America’s democracy. Samar is also nearing completion of her book — “From the Holy Land to the Heartland: Olives Sweet Tea–One Family’s Century Long Quest for Peace.”

Samar embodies the spirit of John Gardner’s vision, and is a most-deserving recipient of the IMPACT Award! We will present the award to Samar during the 2018 Annual Leadership Conference: October 25-27, 2018.

Please send your congratulations to Samar at this email address: samar.s.ali@gmail.com
