House Fellows Foundation
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The White House Fellows
Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation
in 1969 to replace the Smithsonian Institution as trustee
for privately donated funds that provide financial support
for the White House Fellowship Program’s educational
and outreach efforts Additionally, the Foundation serves to
broaden the White House Fellow’s understanding of government
and the problems confronting government and to encourage Fellows’
lifetime commitment to public service and education of the
American public at large. The Foundation raises and provides
stewardship for funds from private individuals, foundations,
and corporate donors to support the essential elements of
the White House Fellowship Program not supported by appropriated
funds or executive agency budgets.
